"So Abram left, as the Lord had told him;  and Lot went with him.  Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran.  He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had accumulated in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan and they arrived there." Gen 12:4-5  And "Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe." Gen 12:10

Abram had seen the glory of God in Mesopotamia prior to traveling to Haran with his father and also prior to setting out to Canaan after his father died.  Having seen the "glory" Abram arrives in Canaan as directed.  He took a step of faith into what God had promised him. Not long after reaching Canaan Abram faces a test of his new found faith in the land God had given him.  A severe famine hits the land and Abram is concerned for his family and possessions.  His test was: "Now that I have given you this land will you trust me to take care of it and yourself?(paraphrase)"  Abram not having known God very long looks for his own solution to the famine problem.  His solution takes him to Egypt, a land of idols and evil.  And he effectually changed history by his diversion there.  He picks up a slave girl in whom the seed of Ishmael rests.  Egypt represents the worldly life and lifestyle.  Abram didn't trust God to care for him in the land that he had been given.

How many times have we done the same thing?  As God begins to develop a relationship with us and our faith is put to the test, we revert to the old way of doing things instead of trusting the Lord and looking to Him to change us and teach us His way of dealing with the difficulties.  This is a vital lesson for Abram as it is for us as well.  We also saw it in the disciples as they had to learn to fish the Jesus way  (Luke 5).  As we move into God's promises for our lives, let us also look to him for His provision to accomplish that which he has promised to us. As surely as we have seen His glory and He has called us out of the old life, He will provide all that is needed to walk in newness in Christ.

 PEACE HOUSE, Living Seed Team...
Who we are

A team of men and women called, convinced and ordained of God, brought together one by one, by the Holy Spirit to labour together in the discharge of the vision to teach and build up God's people with the Word; to raise leaders through concerted discipleship; to bring the light of the gospel unto the unreached peoples; to make available sound biblical teachings unto God's people regardless of their culture, language or denominational affiliation, through the print media - Books, journals Tracts etc.; the Electronic media: the radio and Television; Teaching tapes (audio and video); Retreats, Conferences and Training meetings, and other similar Biblical avenues of ministry.
Though presently, the team has a base and a secretariat in Gboko called PEACE HOUSE, which houses the central administrative aspects of the work, yet the team is dynamic. It is not necessarily static or localized in one place. There are other members of the team who effectively labour along though they are not specifically located in Gboko, It grows as the Lord calls men and confirms the vision in their spirits, to labour along with us. For the purpose of identification and official administration, we have chosen to call this team of Christian men and women, so bounded together by the strong cord of God's calling unto this work as "LIVING SEED TEAM"
